I am first and foremost a wife, mom, stepmom.

I was born in the West Midlands, my dad was an ex-professional footballer, and my mom became a Ward Sister at the Manor Hospital in Walsall, having started her training at the young age of 16 in 1948 when the NHS was first established. Following on from their chosen careers, they then went into business in the hospitality sector, which is all that I knew from the day I was born to when I was 23.

 

Hospitality and event management you could say is in my blood, and this is something that I love.

I qualified as a medical secretary at the age of 18 and worked in numerous hospitals, covering many specialities. I started my own business as a Private Practice Manager working from home 20 years ago, alongside working in the NHS and this fitted in beautifully when I had my daughter, enabling me then to leave the NHS and for me to work from home and be there for my children. My daughter is turning 17 living her dream of performing arts musical theatre and my stepson is 24 and is a Level 4 Ski Instructor in Canada.

I decided on a career change and started my fashion business called Maison Grace selling Captain Tortue French Fashion just after my daughter was born. I became a manager within the company with a team of 15. This is when I first started networking and was introduced to LoveBiz joining as a member 9 years ago.

​

I loved the ethos, the support and the connections that were made, but most of all the community that encouraged and guided me as a business owner working on my own from home. Move forward 5 years and that is when I became an invested host with my first area, and I haven’t looked back. Creating this wonderful environment for other women in business to flourish is now my passion.

​

Again, it’s OK to change direction in business. I suffered a stroke nearly 5 years ago at the age of 50 and Nurture & Shine was born. We all need to look after ourselves to be the best version we can be to succeed in business, but most of all be there for our families and friends. I believe surrounding yourself with positive, supportive likeminded people is so beneficial to your health and mental wellbeing. My belief and the support from #LoveBiz never waivered during this time and I will be eternally grateful for that.
